After a long search for a church in Kelowna, I began attending First Baptist with my family in 2008, and was amazed and comforted by the way this church accepted myself and my family.
I am honored to not only serve my church family in this way, but to also serve my Lord and Saviour.
I continue to learn and grow in my faith and wisdom through the grace, wisdom and faith of the members of this church.
I watch as my daughter grows her faith in this church while building lasting relationships.
My wife continues to serve the church community and in doing so shares our journey, which creates a foundation for lasting relationships.
I look forward to meeting with anyone interested in making First Baptist their home, and sharing ideas to help benefit the church as a whole.
My name is Dave Westnedge. I'm a chef and a meat cutter by trade. In my spare time, I can be found riding my bike all over the city, endlessly working on my house, or hanging out and having fun with my beautiful wife Sara.
I've been a Christian my whole life. I grew up at First Baptist Nelson, and have said "The Sinners Prayer" so many times I've lost count. After high school I went to BLTS (for any old school baptists who remember BLTS), and eventually wound up in Kelowna.
I started attending First Baptist in 1999. I love the community here. I've worked side by side with my church family. I've served been served, taught and learned. This church has always been there for me; in good times and bad. And I've always been growing.
My role has changed a lot, but I've always been involved. I am happy to give back to a church body that has given me so much throughout most of my adult life.

I was born and raised in Kelowna and have called it home all of my life despite not always living here. My wife Jenn and I were introduced to FBC by a friend shortly after moving back to Kelowna. We immediately felt welcomed by the people of this church and found an incredible group of friends in the young married couple's Bible study.
We have been attending FBC for almost 10 years now and during that time have had two wonderful children; Nyah who is now 8 and Quinn who is 6. Our church plays a large role in our children's lives and it is one of their favorite places to be, truly a home away from home.
I teach grades 7-9 in the public school system and believe that my job provides me opportunities to do God's work on a daily basis. I am an active person who loves the outdoors and appreciates the beauty God has provided in nature. I am also privileged to play the bass guitar in one of the three worship bands here at FBC.
I continue to grow in my faith and know this does not happen without the help of other Christian brothers and sisters. I have found many great friends of all ages that make up the body of First Baptist Church to share in my joys, sorrows, struggles and celebrations.
I am excited to help represent my church family as one of the Elders here at FBC.
Cathy & I were invited to visit FBC by our friends Gord & Connie Turner and have now attended for 28 years. Both of us came to know the Lord and were baptized at FBC.
Our 3 children were raised with FBC being a huge influence on their lives.
We came to be involved with the music ministry at FBC through our friends Gary & Janet White and have worked closely with them since that time. We have also been involved in prayer ministry and Small Group Bible studies.
I have been an elder for 6 years previous to this term.
I am employed by Gord Turner Renovations.
