Baptism is an essential step in a follower's journey. In baptism, you are saying yes to the cost of following Jesus, forsaking all other ideologies in favour of the plan God has for your life. In baptism, you are marking the beginning of your covenant with Jesus, and that's a lifelong commitment. In baptism, you are finding your worth, value, and identity in our Trinitarian God.
We baptize people once they can tell us not only that they believe in Jesus but that they acknowledge how baptism calls them to participate in Jesus' Kingdom of grace, love, peace, righteousness and so on. There are many reasons for someone to choose baptism.
