International Student Ministry

International Student Ministry

International Student Ministries Canada is a Christian charitable organization that desires to serve the world that has come to us. We’re committed to helping all students from all countries with all beliefs.

What We Do

International Student Ministries Canada (ISMC) was established in 1984 with the goal of providing Canadian friendship partners for international students at Canadian colleges and universities. Today a variety of services are available to help international students adjust to Canadian culture. While International Student Ministries Canada is a Christian organization our services and friendship are offered unconditionally to all international students. For students who are already Christians and those interested in learning more about the Christian faith we offer International Christian Fellowships and Bible Studies.International Student Ministries Canada is headquartered in Three Hills, Alberta, and has field staff and volunteers in 18 college and university cities across Canada.

Who We Serve

We serve you. Everyone is welcome. By serving the needs of people from around the world and from different religions, we serve our Lord Jesus. He commands us to love everyone and to humbly serve the needs of others. We look forward to being a benefit in your student life. Although we are staff and volunteers, we also learn so much from the International Students. We feel that we too are being enriched in so many ways.International Students……tell us how they appreciate our staff and friendship partners who treat them as part of the family, including them in special events, like birthday celebrations. It’s like having a home away from home!Canadian Friendship Partners……tell us how much they have enjoyed getting to know people from other countries. As they learn of different cultures their outlooks are broadened. They gain greater understanding of international events.International Student Advisors……Inform us that students with friends in the community are more likely to do well in their studies.

Our People

Our staff and volunteers are regular people who live in different areas across Canada. They are committed to serving the needs of International Students. Many have been trained in different areas. For example, some have had training and certification in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Others have taken seminars and courses. Some are highly educated professionals. All serve with the love of Jesus and look forward to making rewarding friendships.
